Narnia: The Chronicles

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

(based on novel published in 1950 by Clive Staples Lewis, screened in 2005)

World War II was the setting. Lewis teaching kids to be brave fighting for the truth besides working together in unity and brotherhood as a big family. Peace is taught to be the main aim of the fight. Only a wise leader deserves to lead to peace, Aslan --the God Lion-- is the one. Conveying these values, Lewis sought a magic wardrobe.. a door to the magical and mistical world.. unfortunately is in a winter wonderland 'Narnia' which has been snowy for 100 years under a bitch witch's rule, Jadis.

During the World War II, the four Pevensie children - Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy - are sheltered at and old and big house of Prof. Digory Kirke. This house comforts the 4 children in many ways including chalenging corners and spaces for playing hide and seek. Discovering the wardrobe one day, Lucy departs magically to Narnia. They are told that they are the key to breaking the Witch's eternal winter. Soon after that they are proclaimed as the Kings and The Queens of Narnia. They learn how to work together in a unity to defeat the Witch. They learn fighting skills. They, as kids, are too early to bear the great responsibility, but they are brave and confident. As they know Aslan's love and protection is with them.

Prince Caspian: The Return to Narnia (based on a novel by C.S. Lewis published in 1951; screened in 2008)

The 4 children are back to school. The school and real life atmosphere in railway station is shocking me when one scene in the railway becomes their transposing way back to Narnia by Susan's magic horn. After hundreds of years have passes, they discovered that Narnia is now ruled by General Miraz, a weird creatures which are bloodthirsty. Meanwhile Prince Caspian now in exile set out by his uncle. This time the children must search for Caspian and help him vanquish Miraz. The battles chalenged them with various strategies. They finally won, once again with Aslan's help. The farewell scenes are so sweet featuring the flirting Caspian to Lucy.
